Wilton first travelled to Durham City first on Saturday in a bid to extend their impressive unbeaten run to eight league games.

They started brightly creating plenty of chances but with a solid performance from man of the match defender Danny Morgan, Durham had no way through. Wilton continued to pressurise and striker John Tombling netted a brace. Durham couldn't reply and Wilton were rewarded with all three points.

Wilton 2nd's faced Norton 2nd's who always prove to be difficult opposition, as did the driving wind, rain and hail on this occasion. Wilton, despite being without Captain Mark Nevison, started brightly looking to put last weeks disappointments behind them but were unable to penetrate the resilient Norton Defence. Norton always looked dangerous on the break and 10 minutes in they caught the Wilton Defence on the back foot and slotted a soft goal home. Wilton battled on and were unlucky late in the first half as Johnny Couhig ripped apart the Norton defence, slotted the ball through to fellow Striker Alex Harrison who superbly rounded the keeper only to push his shot inches wide of the post. A short corner awarded to and expertly executed by Norton on the stroke of half time made it 2-0 at the break.

The second half started as the first finished and Wilton soon found themselves with an uphill struggle as they were immediately caught at the back once again and went 3-0 down. The next 20 minutes looked much more encouraging for Wilton who piled on the pressure. Young keeper Shaun Wallace managed a string of reaction saves and MoM Mark Whitworth was inspirational in midfield as Wilton fought for a share of the spoils. Despite numerous chances however they just could not find the back of the net. Wilton eventually got a break, adapting their usual Short Corner routine, Johnny Couhig was unfortunate not to score from the top of the 'D' but Mark Whitworth followed in and lifted the ball perfectly into the roof of the net. Wilton's new found hopes were soon dashed though as Norton stole possession in midfield, sliced through Wilton's defence and despite appeals from the Wilton defence that the ball was kicked in, netted their fourth of the match. Acting Captain Bob Leason then added to Wiltons woe's by disputing the goal too strongly and talking his way into a sending off. Norton needed no further encouragement to pile forward and made the extra man count as they added a fifth to their tally before the final whistle, final score 5-1. This now leaves Wilton mid-table and with some serious re-thinking to do in regards to their game plans.

Wilton 3rd struggled again this week, they were on the wrong side of another 6-0 drubbing, their collection of young starlets are finding it tough in this division but they are still putting on some excellent displays of hockey.

Wilton ladies faced a tough game against Norton on Saturday, both teams found it hard in the dreadful conditions, and neither side posed any real attacking threat. As the game went on, both sides would have settled for the draw. But as Wilton sat back late in the second half Norton found the only goal of the game a bobbling shot which went in off a defenders foot.
