Division One: Game of the day saw Killinghall Arms take on league leaders Newton Aycliffe Sports Club.

It was a superb all round team performance by the home side causing the Sports Club problems from start to finish, and they deservedly took the lead when Sean Rochford's glancing header from Mike Robson's free kick rocked Aycliffe. The Killy then fought tooth and nail and matched the league leaders in all departments, they then doubled their lead with a well worked goal from youngster John Mckie. The visitors then pulled a goal back when they were awarded a disputed penalty and with the home keeper saving the original spot kick from Darren Griffiths, only to see the ball rebound back to the penalty taker who knocked the ball home, to make the score 2-1 at the break. In the second half both sides worked hard to find an opening, but with neither side able to convert the chances created it was the home side who stood firm to claim all three points.

Division Two

Division Two saw the re-arranged quarter final game between Royal British Legion and The Northern Echo take place to see who would meet FRA Mowden in the semi final. It was the Legion who took the lead in the early stages of the game, with both teams played some attractive football the Echo scored a deserved equaliser when Gary Pallas fired home to level the scores at half time. The second half was played mostly in the Legion's half and only a man of the match perfromance by the home sides keeper kept the scores level. It was the Echo who were creating the chances with some quality play from the defence, through the midfield, but the visitors were unable to find a way to beat the keeper. With the game looking to go to extra time, it was the Echo who finally made the breakthrough with less than 20 minutes left to play it was Rob Carter who took his chance well to fire the Echo into the lead after some excellent work by Darren Henderson. The Echo continued to press, with the home side creating only occassional chances which were dealt with well by the visitors defence. Once again it was great approach work by Henderson who set up Carter to find the net for his second goal of the game, which put the tie beyond the Legion and saw the Echo progress into a semi final with a 3-1 victory.

While their cup semi-final opponents were battling it out FRA Mowden were entertaining Copper Beech in the league, where the hosts started brightly with Richard Bestford going close early in the game, although it was the visitors who took the lead Lee Usher pounced on a loose ball to find the back of the net. Mowden's response was immediate with Stephen Barker firing home after Bestford cut the ball back from the touchline, Mowden continued to press forward and the pressure soon told as the prolific Stephen Thompson turned well before curling a left foot shot into the far corner, soon after Thompson then broke down the right and crossing for Martin Hickmans to fire home and unstoppable shot.

The second half provided more of the same as Mowden's passing game carved holes in the Copper Beech defence, only to be denied time and again by Dave Hodgson in the Coppers' goal. On the hour mark a cross from Barker as lofted over the keeper from Hickmans into the roof of the net to give the striker his second goal and to make the score 4-1 to the home side. Man of the match Hickmans made it 5-1 when he completed his hat-trick when the ball was cleared from a corner Hickmans volleyed with his left foot giving the visitors keeper no chance as the ball hit the top corner of the net. In the closing minutes of the game Stuart Ward grabbed a second for the visitors but it was too little, too late.

The Hole In The Wall played hosts to Smurfit and it was the visitors who left with all three points, a hat-trick by man of the match Mike Weston, two from Dave Abdale and one from Fred Wood proved too much for the home side who replied with goals from Nigel Rea and Sunny Ghag, but it wasn't enough, and the game saw Smurfit run out 6-2 winners.

The Cap then started to dominate the game, and after an excellent performance in defence Andrew Geary found himself unmarked in the oppositions penalty area to score with a well taken volley after the visitors failed to clear a corner. Gowland then got his name on the scoresheet after some persistant work in the box. Geary then double his tally for the day with a header, after a training ground free kick routine worked on the day, the defender then completed his hat-trick showing composure in front of goal to find the net. Andrew Marley completed the scoring after coming of the bench to finish off a cross from Gowland and make the final score 8-1 to the home side and see them through to the cup semi-final.
