Swimming in his first open gala, ten year old Calum Gibson of Durham City ASC won a full set of medals at the Blyth Graded Meet, two gold, one silver and one bronze.

Gibson won the boys ten years 50 metres freestyle and 50 backstroke, he was second in the 50 butterfly and third in the 50 breaststroke.

Clubmate Joanne Brady won two silver medals and one bronze, second in the girls 12 years 50 breaststroke and 50 butterfly, and third in the 50 backstroke. Elizabeth Wilson won two bronze medals for her third placings in the girls ten years 50 backststroke and 50 butterfly.

The Durham Dolphins girls team of Elizabeth Wilson, Helen Brady, Jennifer Cockburn and Charlotte Buckle, came fourth in both the girls 9/10 years 4x50 freestyle and medley relays.

Helen Brady was given a 'speeding ticket' in the girls ten years 50 freestyle for beating the top standard time for the event at this level of competition. In all, the Durham squad gained a total of 21 personal best times from 36 swims.
