Lealholm v Lingdale Utd: Lealholm took the lead after just two minutes when a cross from Holland found Robinson free to make a good shot.

There followed some equal end to end football before Iseton found the equaliser when he wrong footed the Lealholm keeper. The score remained level to the break. The first ten minutes of the second half saw Lealholm on top. First Knight scored after some good one-two play on the left and then Hjolland took them further ahead with a good goal from a tight angle. Almost immediately Lingdale were back in the game, winning a free kick just outside the area. Twice Thompson in the Lealholm goal saved the shot before Welford was able to poke the ball home. Lingdale from then on looked the most likely to score and almost equalised in the closing minutes but a good save by Thompson saved the day, leaving Lealholm to take all three points.

Boosbeck Utd v Goldsborough

Dent's hard work paid dividends in the 15th minute when a poor clearance found him in a scoring position and he took his team into the lead. Following a spell of poor passing, Boosbeck eventually began to play better and after a good move involving Brown and Winter, Thompson was on hand to score the equaliser. Goldsborough pushed forward again, giving a shakey Boosbeck defence more problems. This time it was Micky Dent who gave the visitors the lead. The second began with Boosbeck in a much more attacking mode, the introduction of Raw saw the home side pressing from kick off, Andy Al-Dick makingruns into the heart of the Goldsborough defence, however Micky Dent took the visitors further into the lead when he broke clear. Boosbeck came back when a ball from Crawford found Al-Dick who took on two men before slotting the balll past the helpless keeper. Goldfsborough then had to defend their slender lead as shots from Brown, Thompson and Winter were all cleared off the line. The continued pressure paid off for Boosbeck with a well taken goal from Winter to level then with ten minutes left good work by Al-Dick led to Winter's second.

North Riding Challenge Cup

Highland Laddie v South Bank (York)

Laddie bombarded the South Bank goal from the first minute until the 90th minute and yet were 3-0 down after 60 minutes. Three times they were caught on the break and punished after some good finishing. It wasn't until the 80th minute that they finally got the goal they deserved, Lawther firing home. Two minutes later substitute, Trenholme, addaed another. With everyone piling forward chances were still plenty Dickinson, Nesbitt, Dowson and many others all going close but the equaliser wasn't forthcoming, the 2-3 final result putting the York side into the draw for the next round.

Highland Laddie v Goldsborough

On 35 minutes Goldsborough's Marsay sprinted for goal again and managed to squeeze his shot past Bennett. In a rare attack, seconds before half time Laddie equalised, good work from Daynes and Neesam putting Lawther through to score from close range. With the wind advantage in the second half, Laddie pressed more and began to look dangerous, Rye and Powell both going close. On 75 minutes Comballack combined well with Lawther to tuck the ball home to give Laddie the lead. Laddie were now flying and five minutes later Lawther was on the scoresheet again making the final score 3-1.

Eileen Hodgson Bowl (prelim. round)

Whitby Fishermen v Loftus Ath

The first half proved to be stalemate but the second half was a complete change. A spell of Loftus possession saw a good cross headed in to give the visitors the lead. This seemed to fire up Whitby who began to knock the ball around and after a strong challenge in the box on Anderson, Whitby were awarded a penalty which was coolly converted by Roldan. A good piece of individual skill by Foster saw him launch a 35 yard ball to Brown who hooked the ball over the Loftus keeper to give Whitby the edge. With 20 minutes remaining a good move down the right resulted in Roldan crossing for Whitby's Wood to score his first, followed soon afterwards by his second as he kept his cool to take a difficult chance and take the score to 4-1.

League Cup

Hinderwell v Gt Ayton

Richard Vales of Hinderwell must have run over a black cat on the way to the Croft as he scored in this League Cup match, hit the cross bar on three other occasions and still finished on the losing side. Hinderwell started well and should have scored twice in the first five minutes from opportunities created through the speed of Jeff Morrison. The opening goal came from a free kick which Bales bent in like Beckham and Hinderwell looked comfortable until Busby popped in Ayton's equaliser minutes before half time. The was a typical cup tie with play flowing from end to end, both teams commited to their cause. The Hinderwell defence was caught square when an attack broke down and keeper, Robinson was forced to concede a penalty, coolly slotted home by Leng to put the visitors in front. The tie was put beyond doubt with a spectacular goal by Gt Ayton defender David Hunton from 25 yards.

Lingdale Tavern v Redcar Mack. Park

Playing their first game for three weeks, Lingdale began well keeping the visitors pinned back as Shane and Dane Breckon caused problems for the defence.and Redcar keeper, Henwood being forced to make some good saves. Porrit and Jackson also held firm in the Lingdale defence, Ashbridge controlling the back line. 0 - 0 at half time.Thompson and Joned working hard in the Lingdale mid field created the 1st good chance for Dane Breckon but his shot went just wide, Redcar forward, Oxley, saw his effort saved by keeper, Moore keeping the game goalless and forcing extra time. In extra time the lack of matchestook its toll, tired players started to make mistakes Moore failed to clear and gave the ball to Redcar's Heering who quickly crossed for Oxley to score into the empty net. With the first period of extra time almost over a good exchange of passes led to Dane Breckon play Shane through, his left foot strike giving the keeper no chance to level the score.Lingdale managed to lift their game in the second period. A good run by Ball resulted in him being fouled in the box. Shane Breckion hit the resulting penalty over the bar but the referee ordered a retake as the Redcar keeper moved off his line, this time Breckon made no mistake. With the visitors angry and fired up they put the home side under pressure. With four minutes to go Porrit levelled the game following a free kick. As the game looked to be going to a penalty shoot out, Lingdale won a second penalty, once again Shane Breckon converted well, completing his hat trick and taking Lingdale to the next round.

Annandale Hotel v Grosmont

Annandale progressed to the next round despite a late Grosmont fight back. Annandale's Booth went close to scoring when a defence splitting pass from Allan put him clear but Grosmont keeper, Jeffrey made a fine save. Allan then outpaced the defence to put Bell clear only for the striker to blaze the ball over ther bar. Annandale took the lead when Dewing, who had started the game in goal, fired a low shot into the corner. Dewing then netted a second with a header from a Barker corner. With five minutes remaining the visitors were awarded a penalty which Duck converted to make it 2-1. Despite the efforts of Stubbs in the Grosmont midfield, Annandale hung on.

Grangetown took the lead as the Arms failed to clear and a well executed lob beat the helpless Cummins. The second half began as many have this season for Stakesby with an early sloppy goal conceded, Grangetown making it 2-0.
