Willington Ladies League: Despite losing by the odd point at Hunwick Joiners Arms Willington Club B remain 11 points clear at the top of the darts section.

Willington Club A are in second place, twelve points clear of Willington Market and Willington Black Horse A.

Willington Cottles A took over the top spot in the dominoes section following their three points win at Willington Club A. Willington Burn are two points behind but have two matches in hand, whilst the Prospect Club jumped up to third place after they whitewashed Willington Market and are now only a point behind the Burn.

Tow Law Cup

Newhouse Club pulled off one of the biggest victories in the competition when they only dropped two points to the visiting Sunniside Comedian. The visitor's only points came in the pool singles when John Conley and Keith Race won. Newhouse had pool singles points from Paul Morris, Graeme Thompson, Gary Bainbridge and Steve Turner. Newhouse added the dominoes singles through Bill McMahon, Harry Dinsdale, Rob Day, Eric Rowlands and Graeme Thompson.

In the Tow Law Dan's Castle derby the A team went through with a five points victory over their B team. The A team had pool singles points from Anthony Hird, Lee Stockdale, Gary Watson and Colin Armstrong, whilst David Murray and Paul Murray replied. The two brothers also took dominoes points for the B team but Alan Henderson, Lee Stockdale and Anthony Hird took them to victory.

Auckland Area

CIU League

West Auckland raced into a 14 points lead at the top of the darts section when they whitewashed the visiting Old Shildon with points from Robert Douthwaite, Brian Denham, John Denham and Chris Kitch to add to the team game. Second placed Horndale fell off the pace when they lost by the odd point to the visiting Eldon Lane. Barry Shippen and Colin Baldry won for Horndale with Billy Percival and Stephen Weldon levelling before the Lane clinched victory by taking the team game.

Old Shildon had their lead at the top of the dominoes section cut to sic points after they beat their hosts at West Auckland for the loss of one point, whilst Eldon Lane whitewashed Horndale to take over second place. Ian Bowes took West's only points, whilst John Collingwood, Alan Hobson and Alan Bell won for Old Shildon. Eldon's Lane maximum came with wins from Brian Younghusband, John Bell, Ronnie Thompson and Alan Race.

Cockton Hill went two points clear at the top of the pool section with a home win over Evenwood but failed to get their scoresheet in on time. Old Shildon and West Auckland share the second place after the Shildon team had wins from Alan Bell Colin Bell and Michael Aldworth with Chris Kitch taking West's lone point.

Crook Cup

Crook Surtees shrugged off their lowly league places and came through to beat the visiting Crook Coach and Horses A by two points in the First Round of the First Division Cup. The Surtees had snooker singles points from Chris Bainbridge, Howard Trotter and Dickie Allinson with the visitors levelling with wins from Paul Fiddis, Brian lee and Ray Holliday. Phil Tobin and Ray Holliday won the doubles for the Coach.

The Surtees pulled level in the dominoes with singles points from Fred Hunt, Howard Trotter, Paul Ford and John Uren, whilst John Race and Brian lee replied for the visitors. The result then rested on the final dominoes doubles and the Surtees triumphed when Alan Tomlinson and Paul Ford beat Brian Lee and Paul Fiddis.

Howden Australian put up a good fight in the First Round of the Second Division Cup when they visited Crook Coach and Horses B and only lost by three points. The Coach had snooker singles points from David Stephenson, Gerald Parkin, David Haygarth and Les Scott with Haygarth and Scott adding the doubles. Ian Williams and Peter Johnson were the only winners for the Aussie.

The Aussie managed to share the dominoes singles when they had wins from Stephen Heyes, Peter Johnson and Michael lee to match the wins from David Stephenson, Les Scott and David Haygarth. However the Coach made progress when Gerald Parkin and David Stephenson beat Liz Hall and Ron Flounders in the deciding doubles.
