FOR the fourth year running, the under-16 girls' football squad at the Wensleydale School in Leyburn have won the area seven-a-side cup.
They didn't concede a single goal throughout the tournament, winning every game, but last weekend they were unable to pull off the double by winning the 11-a-side county final played at Bedale.
They led 1-0 until 15 minutes before the end when the Rossett School team score two late goals.
This weekend five of the Wensleydale girls are playing in an area match against Allendale in Weardale.
For the first time one of the squad, Jodi Ewart, has won a place in the county team and one of their youngest members, Abby Holmes, now trains with the Sunderland Academy.
