Ripon has been named the best small racecourse in the North by the Racegoers Club, a fans' organisation administered by the Racecourse Association.
The accolade was awarded to Ripon for the course's warm welcome, excellent facilities and high quality racing.
The Racegoers Club was founded more than 35 years ago to help racing fans get the most out of their passion. The club also acts as the punters' representative at committee level at the British Horseracing Board.
Ripon clerk of the course James Hutchinson said: "To be recognised by the Racegoers Club is a tremendous honour for Ripon racecourse.
"The organisation is the voice of the fans and the award speaks volumes about the investment the racecourse executive has put into the facilities, activities and events for racegoers here at Ripon."
Over the winter months, the course management will be working on a number of projects designed to further improve facilities before the new season begins in April
