A MAN who cycled more than 2,000 miles has raised £3,800 for a cancer charity.
Jeff Snell took on the challenge of cycling from his parents home in Shildon to Lands End, then to John O'Groats and back.
The 29-year-old was inspired by his father David's battle with incurable liver cancer.
Mr Snell presented the proceeds from the ride to the charity Cancer Research UK in front of family and friends at the Salvation Army in Shildon.
Lindsay Kay, of the charity, said: "We are very grateful to Jeff for the time and commitment he has dedicated to raising money for Cancer Research UK.
"Thanks to supporters like him and his family and friends Cancer Research UK is able to fund research into the causes of cancer and better treatments for the future."
