Coxhoe Boys: A determined and well-disciplined display saw Coxhoe rewarded with all three points to complete a perfect ten as the top two sides met in the Russell Foster Under-15s League Division One met.

Coxhoe have now won a perfect ten out of ten in the League and this latest victory puts them in good shape for their next match which is being staged at Spennymoor United's Brewery Field ground.

Despite an intense 50-minute warm-up Coxhoe started shakily against a tough Seaham Red Star team so were thankful to go 1-0 up thanks to a goalkeeping error.

After that Coxhoe played some very good football and in the face of some determined play held their nerve and remained disciplined to end as 5-0 victors.

Scorers were Michael Owens (2) and Nathan Ward who was also score twice including one excellent strike after dribbling past a couple of defenders in the box before lashing home.

The final scorer was goalkeeper Tom Orton who was rewarded for making some excellent saves earlier in the match by being sent upfield to take a spot-kick which he converted comfortably.

Star performers for Coxhoe, who have now won a perfect 's side were Daniel Jones, Nathan Ward Paul Harnett and David Taylor who came on as a substitute to replace the injured Steven Bunning.

Coxhoe don't play on Sunday but do have a match on Wednesday, December 17 against Chester-le-Street Waldridge which is being hosted by Spennymoor United.

The clubhouse will be open and kick-off is at 7.15pm and admission is £1 which includes a free strip of raffle tickets for which the prize will be a signed Hartlepool FC football.

At Under-11 level Coxhoe are third in the table after 2-2 against Seaham Duke with Owen Smith scoring both goals.

Durham County Council Lomax Enterprises Youth League

Trimdon United suffered a damaging result when they entertained Redheugh. Although there was only one goal between the sides at the halfway stage, the Reds run out 6-1 winners to consolidate their position at the top of the table. Trimdon United dropped back one place into fourth position.

Scott Leonard gave Redheugh and early lead before Shaun Sproates equalised, but before the break the visitors were 2-1 up through Aidan Atkinson.

In the second half the Reds took command and romped home with further goals by Chris Wilson (2), Tony Thirkell and Graeme McTaggart.

Consett Badgers are still bottom of the table without a point after their 14-0 defeat at the hands of Washington Dunlop. The goals flowed for the visitors and especially for David Whittle, who found the net on eight occasions. Andrew Taylor and Craig Knowlson both scored twice and other goals came from Ian Ward and Nicholas Hatzikonstantino.

Consett have now conceded 156 goals in ten appearances but continue to win warm praise from their opponents for their dedication and commitment.

Gateshead Redheugh lead the table by six points from Washington Dunlop with Darlington Spraire Lads, whose game at Darlington College was postponed, in third place.

In the Durham County Youth Cup two sides from the lead were in opposition and it was Willington who romped into the second round defeating Hartlepool 10-0. Chris Hodgson and Simon Quinn both scored four goals with John Cunningham and Jamie Seymour Willington's other marksmen.

Durham County

Durham County Under-18s stormed into the quarter finals of the national FA Youth Cup with a 3-1 victory away to a strong Manchester County side in Saturday's third round.

The visitors were made to suffer for missing early chances when they went behind in the 26th minute, Dale Fleet racing through to put Manchester ahead. Durham responded immediately to level the scores a minute later when Steven 'Speedy' Richardson of Chester le Street left the home defence standing to equalise.

Durham then took a grip of the game and deservedly went in at the interval 2-1 ahead after Chester le Street's Chris Laws had pressurised Manchester captain Gareth Johnson to concede an own goal.

The visitors defended well for the first twenty minutes of the second half, and Durham wrapped up the game in the 72nd minute. Excellent interplay between Andrew Bulford, another Chester le Street player, and Laws, sent Richardson clear to notch his second.

The win maintains Durham's 100 per cent record in all competitions this season. Round four will be played in January, when Durham will be at home to Cheshire County FA who beat Norfolk 5-2 away in round three.

Richmond Town

Richmond Town Under-10s played away at Northallerton and it was a close encounter.

All together four games were played with the first team playing two and the second team playing two. The first team were unlucky to lose 2-1 and 4-3 both with late controversial goals. The goals were scored by Nick Armstrong and three from Kevin Robinson. Dave Clark got man of the match after a great performance in defence.

The second team drew 2-2 and were unlucky not to win the first match after dominating play. They then won the second match 1-0 to finish off a great set of performances. Goals were scored by Marshall Thorogood and two from man of the match Adam Metcalfe who had a sensational performance in midfield.

Richmond Under-11s played away to GCC and first advantage went to the home team who scored with a shot which beat the keeper with a well placed low shot. Richmond replied with a run from half way resulting in William Gardner scoring after Ethan Stamp split the home defence. Half time was 1-1. The second half started with Richmond becoming the stronger of the two teams and Chris Garside turned the home teams defence and fed William Gardner to score Richmonds second goal. Richmonds third goal came from a throw in by Ethan Stamp which Chris Garside flicked on to allow Luke McComb to beat the keeper. Final score GCC 1, Richmond 3. Man of the match William Gardner.

The Under-9s were away to Northallerton winning one match and tying the other.

Richmond Under-13s are through to the next round of the Teesside League Challenge Cup after winning in extra time against Norton.

Richmond Under-14s and Under-16s also progressed through to the next round of the same competition.

New County North Durham Youth League

Because a number of sides were on Durham County Cup duty only two games were played in the Under-16 division and there were comfortable victories for Redheugh and Cleveland Hall.

Cleveland Hall consolidated their position at the top of the table defeating Consett 4-1 with goals by Dean Tempest (2), Jason Clifford and Daniel Price. Lee Dumigham was Consett's only scorer and the Steelmen have so far managed just one point in nine games.

On the other hand, Cleveland Hall have won seven and drawn one of their nine fixtures and have a three points advantage over Redheugh, who defeated Rutherford 6-0.

Both Chris Pilkington and Daniel Igo bagged a brace of goals with Gregg Jopling and Craig Stephenson also on the mark for the Reds.

In the Durham County Youth Cup Blaydon defeated Chester-le-Street Athletic Blues 6-3 when both Lee Craggs and Liam Bell scored twice and South Moor also won through to the next round against opponents from another competition.

Boldon ended 4-1 losers at South Moor for whom Gary McKay scored twice.

Redheugh also went into the hat for the next round defeating Trimdon 2-1.

In the Under-17 division Birtley enjoyed an 8-1 rout of neighbours Beamish when David Middlemiss found the net on four occasions.

A couple of goals by David Dixon earned Leam Rangers the points at Winlaton, Cleveland Hall ran out 3-1 victors over Red House and Cowgate finished 4-0 in front of South Moor when Chris Fee scored twice.

Scott Reay was another player to find the net twice in Blackfyne's clash with Consett who won and exciting game 3-2.

Rohm and Haas JOC Hetton Youth League

Oone game was played at the weekend and Lumley extended their lead at the top of the table when they defeated second placed Jarrow St Bedes 2-1.

Jarrow led at the halfway stage through Gary Frater, but early in the second half David Smith equalised.

From then on the game could have gone one of three ways, but it was Lumley who came out on top when Smith scored his second goal.

The Cestrians have a four points advantage over Jarrow St Bedes and Ryhope, who share second place. Both teams have a game in hand on Lumley.

No games were played in the Subsidiary Cup leaving Ryhope at the top of the table four points clear of Jarrow St Bedes, who have played one game fewer than the leaders.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Swalwell and Whickham Fellside Y were involved in a six goals thriller which ended 3-3 when they met in the Under-11 division. Michael Croogan scored twice for Swalwell as did Joel Wilson for Whickham Fellside Y.

Peter Arkle was another player to bag a brace of goals as Redheugh finished 6-1 winners over Consett B, Consett R did better than their neighbours finishing 3-2 ahead of Stocksfield while Lewis Meech rifled four goal as Leam Rangers G romped home 9-0 at Blaydon.

Low Fell M and Winlaton produced nine goals with Low Fell winning 5-4. Connor Matthews struck four times for Low Fell and in the remaining game Felling just edged Ryton by a margin of 2-1.

In the Under-12 section Felling edged Winlaton 4-3 when Andrew Chaters scored all four goals. Michael Thompson bagged a brace for Winlaton.

Daniel Carrigan struck three times for Ryton, but his side lost 9-3 at Low Fell for whom Ricky Fenwick was another player to record a hat-trick.

Cleveland Hall ended 3-1 ahead of Consett and Leam Rangers defeated Prudhoe Town 3-2 when Liam Donnelly scored twice. Ben Smith hit both the Prudhoe goals.

Redheugh went nap at home to Beamish winning 5-0 as Gordon Hutchinson struck twice.

In the Under-13 section two goals from Mark Smith set Washington on their way to a 3-2 victory at Whickham Fellside R but Whickham Fellside B won their fixture at Winlaton. Jonathan Robinson and Jack Cohen shared four goals in a 4-1 victory.

Lee Best found the net four times as Chopwell hammered Swalwell 9-0 while in contrast an only goal from James Young was sufficient for Low Fell at home to Leam Rangers Y.

Consett and Blackfyne shared four goals, Rutherford defeated Redheugh 3-0 when Jason Surtees scored twice and a hat-trick from Thomas Williams was a feature of a 4-1 victory for Leam Rangers G in their home game with Blaydon.

At Under-14 level Winlaton hammered Low Fell C 5-0 and Low Fell B also conceded five goals visiting South Moor for whom Chris Wallace netted twice. In the remaining fixture Viv Graham notched three goals as Blaydon ended 5-2 winners at Cleveland Hall.

One game was played in the Under-15 division and victory went to Leam Rangers at Beamish when Gregg Mallett bagged a brace of goals.

Trimdon United
