Durham City: Durham City Ladies fought back from 2-0 down in the last 20 minutes to record a draw in an exciting game away to Saltburn.

After four league defeats in a row it was vital that City got something out of this game against Saltburn and manager Stephen Hamil was pleased to welcome the experienced Amanda Smith and Julie Campbell back into the starting line up.

The first half did not start well for Durham as Saltburn scored on the break with City's defence caught napping. The home side also had a number of good long range efforts from which City 'keeper Julie Burns produced some great saves.

In the second half Durham took the game to Saltburn, but it was the Teessiders who went 2-0 up following a scramble from a corner.

To City's credit they then got stuck in and were quickly rewarded when top scorer Emma Collinson reduced the score to 2-1. City were appealing for a penalty on Smith when Collinson flashed a shot into the net.

Five minutes later Vicky Moore scored a candidate for goal of the season. Becky Welch laid the ball off and Moore curled a shot into the top corner of the net. Moore was the wrestled to the floor when clean through in an exciting end to the game. A red card was issued to the Saltburn defender.

In the final minutes City could have won it but the excellent Urata Qehaja saw her shot go agonisingly wide of the post with the keeper beaten.
