Skelton and Brotton Parish Council has a small grants fund available for local groups and organisations.
Chairman Dorothy Hogg recently presented a cheque for £1,000 to Brotton Football Club to help pay for a football pitch in Brotton.
North Skelton Bells received £500 towards festive lights for North Skelton, and St Margaret's Way Children's Home, in Brotton, was given £750 towards surfacing a new play area at the home.
Brotton Community Forum received £1,000 and £500 went to Action North Skelton.
