ADAM BOYD yesterday extended his loan spell at Boston for a further month as another Hartlepool United promotion winner prepared to return to Victoria Park.

Home-grown Boyd has netted twice in four games at York Street and has impressed boss Neil Thompson.

Boston striker Richard Logan is moving to Peterborough as the club try to free up the necessary funds to try to sign Boyd on a permanent basis. But whether Pool boss Neale Cooper is willing to release Boyd on a permanent basis remains to be seen.

He sanctioned the loan deal but is keen on giving his squad players the chance to play regular first-team football, rather than see them in the reserves every week.

Boston general manager John Blackwell said: "We're pleased to have Adam for a further month. We'll have to see how things go and whether Hartlepool want to keep him. He's done well for us."

Goalkeeper Anthony Williams' four-week spell at Swansea ends after tomorrow's game with Doncaster and he is in line to return to Pool, where his future looks bleak.

He moved to South Wales when The Swans' second-choice keeper, Ryan Harrison, was at the World Youth Championships with Wales.

Williams has yet to make an appearance for Brian Flynn's side, spending his time on the bench.

The former Welsh under-21 shot-stopper is out of contract this summer and his future is likely to be away from Pool after Cooper offered a deal to Dimitiros Konstantopoulos.
