VANDALS have left villagers in Fishburn in the dark over Christmas.
After two attacks in the past week, Fishburn Parish Council has had to turn off their tree lights because they have run out of bulbs.
Parish clerk John Irvine said the council had tried to protect the tree by putting lights out of reach and building a 4ft fence.
He said: "Whoever did this made a determined effort because they had to climb a fence.
"We replaced 21 bulbs after the first attack last week, but when they broke another 15 we didn't have any left."
