A noticeboard designed by students has been unveiled in Consett town centre.
The sign, designed and made by staff and students at Derwentside College, was unveiled in Middle Street by representatives of Consett North Partnership, Derwentside District Council and Derwentside College.
The project, led by John Healey and Tom Lawrie, of Consett North Partnership, was funded by the Community Support Unit through the Single Regeneration Budget.
Councillor Alex Watson, the leader of Derwentside District Council, said: "This successful partnership by Derwentside District Council, Consett North Partnership and Derwentside College, has brought about a momentous occasion.
"This attractive noticeboard depicts the community's heritage and is a credit to all who have been involved, especially the local community of Consett."
The noticeboard was unveiled by student Martin Feeney, who helped create it.
Mr Healey, the partnership's project leader, said: "This is a functional noticeboard, which will benefit the community for many years to come."
