POLICE have released closed-circuit television footage of a man wanted in connection with the theft of a gold chain from a Darlington jewellery shop.
The thief entered Asquiths, in Post House Wynd, on Tuesday October 21, at about 2.40pm.
He asked an assistant if he could look at gold neck chains, and was shown several, but continued to ask for heavier chains.
Another man then opened the door to the shop, and the thief grabbed the chain he was looking at and ran out.
He is described as about 19, 5ft 10in, of slim build, with a prominent nose.
He was wearing a distinctive polo neck jumper, with a beige upper half and navy blue or black lower half.
