FIREFIGHTERS rescued a sow and her six piglets from a blazing barn yesterday.
Crews from Bishop Auckland attended the fire in a pig shed and storage barn at Broom Mill Farm, West Auckland, at about 1pm.
The fire destroyed over a tonne of straw in the single storey building.
