Darlington fans will be hoping the resignation of chairman George Reynolds this week will coincide with their team rediscovering the art of scoring goals.

Quakers visit Kidderminster Harriers tomorrow for a crucial relegation battle on the back of yet another 1-0 defeat.

They more than matched promotion-chasing visitors Hull City for the first half hour last Saturday, Neil Wainwright bringing a good early save from the Tigers keeper before hitting the post with another shot.

But once Stuart Elliott tapped home the opener for Hull from close range after 30 minutes, the Reynolds Arena crowd sensed the game was up.

So it proved as David Hodgson's men rapidly lost their way and the visitors could have won more emphatically as they claimed the three points to move to the top of the Division Three table.

The result left Darlington four points adrift of safety in second-bottom spot and the manager will be forced to make changes for the trip to Kidderminster. Both Craig James and Lee Matthews have returned to their clubs after completing loan spells, while defender Joey Hutchinson serves a one-match ban.

A move to take Sunderland striker Neil Teggart on loan was put on hold this week as the teenager is injured.
