THE work of some of Britain's most talented glass artists will be on display next week.

The diverse range of artwork created by eight people shortlisted for the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize, will be on view at the National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, from Tuesday until February 21.

Helen Maurer, a winner of the Jerwood prize, will be displaying her creations of seascapes produced from coloured, flat glass and projected light.

The Jerwood Applied Arts Prize is a charitable foundation committed to supporting and promoting new work in art. It is awarded every five years and focuses on ceramics, textiles, glass, furniture and jewellery.

The eight artists will talk about their work at the Jerwood Debate, between 2pm and 5.30pm, on Tuesday.
