A TEESSIDE school has been praised by inspectors.
St Clare's RC Primary School, in Middlesbrough, is in the top five per cent in the country for science results.
Ofsted inspectors also judged standards in English to be very high and predicted that pupils would make significant progress in maths this year.
They found the Acklam school to be a very good one where children thrive, which is well-managed and with teaching that was consistently good and often very good.
The report states: "The school cares deeply and very effectively for its pupils."
Inspectors found the curriculum was balanced and the lessons challenging.
To maintain the school's continuous improvement, they suggested that it raise standards in maths further.
Chairwoman of the governors, Geraldine Rodgers, said: "Governors are delighted with the report and acknowledge the efforts of staff and children in maintaining such high standards and a positive ethos within the school.''
Headteacher Sue Fall said: "This is an excellent report in which staff, governors, parents and pupils can take great pride. It is an incentive to step up the good work."
