Grieving family members were today are expected to make an emotional appeal for information to help police solve a brutal murder in Sunderland.
Colin Johnson, 40, was discovered dead in the living room of his home in Pickering Road, Pennywell, by his girlfriend after she returned from a night out.
He had suffered multiple injuries, Northumbria Police said.
Detectives questioned a man in connection with the murder and he has been bailed pending further inquiries.
