AN organisation to improve the performance of the construction industry is to be established.
Constructing Excellence in the North-East will be launched in May, and will build on the work of Rethinking Construction North-East and Construction Best Practice, to provide the industry with a support network.
Catriona Lingwood, centre manager for Constructing Excellence in the North-East, said: "The North-East construction industry has the potential to become a world leader.
"But to do so it must address sector issues and continue to implement changes in order to realise maximum value for all clients through the provision of high quality services.
"This will enhance the image of the industry as a whole with the ultimate result of wealth generation for itself and its clients. Constructing Excellence in the North-East will provide the advice and tactics for firms of all sizes across the supply chain to achieve this vision."
