THE boss of a security business which failed with debts estimated at £157,000 has been disqualified from acting as a director for four years.
David Ord, 44, of Hazel Crescent, Easington Colliery, east Durham, was a director of Bulldog Security Services, at Seaham Grange Industrial Estate.
Bulldog was placed into voluntary liquidation on November 8, 2001.
The disqualification order, enforced at Sunderland County Court, prevents Mr Ord from being a director of a company, or in any way, whether directly or indirectly, being concerned in or taking part in the promotion, formation or management of a company for four years.
Matters of unfit conduct found by the court were that Mr Ord failed to make any VAT returns for all periods after April 2000 and that he also failed to ensure that a P35 annual return for the year 2000/2001 was submitted to the Inland Revenue. He also failed to ensure that the company maintained and delivered adequate accounting records to fully explain all of its transactions to the liquidator.
