A CHARITY has decided to freshen up its image with a change of name.
The Cleveland Community Foundation is now known as the Tees Valley Community Foundation.
The name change was announced at a reception held at the Dorman Museum, in Middlesbrough.
Dr Tony Gillham, chairman of the foundation, said: "We are inspired by a goal of revitalising the whole area and helping to establish a strong sense of place for the Tees Valley to ensure successful economic development and wider community regeneration."
He said there was a compelling case for building a clear Tees Valley brand and that the foundation's decision was more than a name change.
He said: "It is very much a new beginning in terms of working together to support cohesively the various agencies and organisations that exist and, most importantly, to pursue community-focused development for our region."
The Tees Valley Community Foundation has much to celebrate following last year's record grant-making of £1.5m.
