STUDENTS are springing to the support of a cancer care charity's seasonal fund raising drive in County Durham.
New College Durham has pledged its backing to Marie Curie Cancer Care's Daffodil Campaign, which runs through next month.
Linda McDonough, the charity's fundraising manager for the district covering County Durham, visited the college's Framwellgate Moor site to offer her thanks for its support.
She passed on Marie Curie 'daffodil boxes' and collecting tins to help gather contributions for the cause.
The college also plans to stage a fundraising coffee morning to boost the total collected during the month.
Linda said: "The college is really pulling out all the stops and it's very much appreciated. Everything we raise in our area stays in our area to help our nursing staff who work in the community around County Durham."
Linda is keen to hear from any other companies or community groups willing to support the Marie Curie March Daffodil Campaign, which is backed nationally by Yellow Pages.
She can be contacted at the Marie Curie's district office on (0191) 382 3311.
