Durham League Division Two; 'HQ Engineering' Hornets v Old Houghtonians: The Hornets struggled to turnout a capable side whilst still pushing the leagues division two leaders down to the bitter end.

With a number of starters out of the line up the pressure was on Houghton to make the difference and take the game. It wasn't until half time when Houghton were able to gain a dominant lead. By the beginning of the third quarter a spirited 12-point comeback from the Hornets, proved to be too little, too late as Houghton clung on to win 86-80.

Middlesbrough C v Wear Vall Wolves

A fast and furious start from college with the full court man to man defence gave the home side a well deserved first quarter lead of 24 points. The game quickly got beyond the reach of Wear Valley as the lead was stretched to 66-22 at half time. And from the second half the game had become a formality as College kept full control of the game, allowing bench players some on-court minutes to take the game 118-53. College's main weapons being their smothering defense, which Wear Valley found hard to overcome.

County Cup

'HQ Engineering' Hornets v Willington Wasps

For the second game in a row the Hornets had trouble putting out their strongest side and once again led to a home defeat. The offence were able to work as normal but the lack of defensive cover allowed Willington's five players to run up a 138-107 win. The game followed the pattern of the Hornets loss to Houghton with the home side creating a good run in the final quarter, but first division Willington Wasps continued onto the County Cup semi finals.

Women's Division

Durham Knights v East Durham & Houghall Comm. College

East Durham always had the edge in this one sided affair as they started with a 30-point lead. With Durham needing to pull the lead back quickly it was a case of more haste less speed as Durham struggled to reduce the beginning deficit. The game itself was an even affair as East Durham took advantage of the lead to win the game 95-58.

Division Three Cup

Durham Knights v East Durham & Houghall Comm. College 'C'

East Durham held the lead form early in this game as Durham's offence struggled throughout the contest. Coupled with Durham's foul problems, College's offence and stingy defense took this cup game 63-37.
