Six members went to Sheffield to compete in the Gateshead and Whickham open meet.
This was in a 50 metre pool which is very different from the local 25m ones. All six swam well with 12 personal best times being recorded.
Janine Phillips, 13-years-age group, won the 200m Breaststroke in a PB time of 2.51.92, and was narrowly beaten into second place in the 100m Breaststroke although she recorded another PB time of 1.20.61.
Joseph Potts 14-years age group, swam in five events finishing first in the 200m Individual Medley, first in the 100m Butterfly, second in the 200m Butterfly and third in the 100m Freestyle all in PB times. These were excellent times in his age group, including breaking a minute for the 100m Freestyle, 59.62
Sam Sanderson and Rachael Wilson also recorded PB times in their swims.
