Spennymoor are hoping to sign full back Mark Robinson on loan for a third month. He isn't in the first team picture at Hartlepool and has been on loan at the Brewery Field for the last two months.

But now the second month has ended and Spennymoor are waiting to see what happens next.

Manager Tony Lee said: "We want to try and keep him, because he's being pushed further down the pecking order at Hartlepool, and has little chance of first team football.

"He's having talks with them this week, so we'll see what happens."

Lee will also have to decide soon whether to keep striker Justin Perry for another month.

Meanwhile, Moors have two fundraising events coming up soon. They are organising a race night on Friday, February 20 in the main stand, and a sponsored walk on Sunday, February 29.

They are also looking for a new main sponsor for the rest of the season. Anyone interested should contact the club on 01388 811934.

Moors' Durham Challenge cup semi final against Billingham Town was postponed on Tuesday night because of a waterlogged pitch, and has been re-arranged for this Tuesday.

If they win next week, then they will play Bishop Auckland in the final, after their rivals beat Jarrow Roofing 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Bishops trailed for much of the first half after Gavin Cogden put the home side into the lead after 17 minutes, but then Steve Salvin pounced on a mistake by Roofing keeper John Caffry - who was with Bishops last season - for the equaliser.

Bishops took a grip on the game when they scored twice inside six minutes in the second half, through Chris Moore and Neil Maddison, and after Paul Chow pulled a goal back, Maddison pounced on a rebound, then Nicky Scaife scored with a low shot for the fifth.

"That game was a potential banana skin" said manager Brian Honour. "Not many clubs go to Jarrow and score five."

The news that Bishop Auckland have been voted Team of the Month for January got a mixed reception at the weekend.

While Bishops are delighted to have received the award, they remember too well the last time they picked up the monthly award back in August.

Bishops won three and drew one of their opening four league games, and also thrashed Flixton 8-0, to go top of the First Division table.

But after picking up the award, they didn't won another game for six matches, including defeat in the FA Cup against Pickering. Honour said: "Hopefully, we can continue winning matches, and not fall away like last time."

Bishops' triumph was unexpected, as other teams had played more matches than them during the month and also picked up more points, but it appears the award has been based on percentage wins in league and cup ties.

Bishops' game at Kendal tomorrow kicks off at 2pm because the home club have accidentally sliced through one of their floodlight cables.
