DRIVERS who toughed it out to win races in the demanding world of autograss racing have been rewarded by their local club.
The Yorkshire Dales Autograss Club annual presentation night was held at the Hall Garth Golf and Country Club, Darlington, where Evenwood's Clare Horner and Darlington's Graham Blackburn were confirmed joint winners of the Champion of Champions' Trophy after scoring an equal number of wins throughout the season as well chalking up victories in the national championships.
Mr Blackburn's wife, Pam, was second in Class 13 while son, Scott, came second in Class 8 in his first year of racing.
Other trophy winners: Michael Robson (Class 1); Graeme Jones (Class 2); Kevin Bowes (Class 3); Andy Nesbit (Class 4); David Knott (Class 5); Stuart Dockray (Class 6); Richard Coates (Stock Hatch); Dave Shields (Class 8); Denis Raffel (Class 9); Adam Hilton (Juniors); Beth Robinson (Class 11); Jackie Knott (Class 12); and Caroline Bowes (Class 13).
