A WOMAN crashed her BMW into a police car after officers come to her house to break up a domestic dispute, a Darlington court heard yesterday.
Carol Jenkinson, 44, collided with the vehicle after leaving her former family home on Stanhope Road North, Darlington, in a very distressed state.
South Durham magistrates were told police called at the house after her husband, Edward, reported an altercation.
David Bryson, prosecuting, said police found Jenkinson in an hysterical state.
She decided to leave the house and, shortly after driving away collided with the police car.
Jenkinson, who lives in Piggy Lane, Gainford, said she was very emotional at the time and misjudged a turn.
She admitted driving without due care.
Magistrates gave her a six- month conditional discharge and ordered her to pay £55 costs.
