Five first half goals meant the Cestrians kept their title bid on track with a 5-0 win over Darlington RA.
Rachel Furness drew first blood scoring straight from a corner despite a desperate attempted clearance from the Darlington defence. The wind caused havoc and it was no surprise when a long ball carried only for Laura Darmody to be upended as she got on the end of it in the box. She calmly got up and tucked away the resulting penalty.
Goal number three came when the Darlington defence were put under pressure and an attempted back pass evaded the keeper and ended up in the net. It was now a case of how many would be scored as the visitors heads dropped and Rachel Hedley capitalised when she fired home to make it four.
Just on the stroke of half time Rae Taylor put a left wing corner over and again the wind carried it straight into the net to make it five.
The second half saw Darlington play much better football but they rarely got in behind the Chester defence.
This Sunday, weather permitting, Marton are the visitors to Moor Park (2pm). As always, all are welcome.
