Durham: On Sunday Durham Under-11s took part in the North Midway League tournament at Rotherham.
The preliminary rounds best of seven games saw Durham take on Yorkshire 2nd and beat them 7-0 conceding only 18 points. They then met fancied Lancs and beat them 4-3 in a close match.
The final game was against Lincs and again Durham won 4-3. This put Durham in the final group, the first game against Yorkshire 1st team, the favourites saw Durham draw five games each but Durham winning on the number of points scored. The final game against Nottinghamshire saw this excellent young Durham team win in style 7-3 to take first place ahead of Lancs then Yorks making this Durhams best result to date.
Team - boys: Matthew Andrews (Gateshead), James Parnell (Chester-le-Street), Taigh Watson and James Burns (Barnard Castle), Adam Waugh (Durham City).
Girls: Abbie Scarlett, Holly Smith and Rebecca Boldon (Sunderland), and Hannah Barker (Stockton).
