Highland Laddie v Redcar Mack. Park: A lively start saw both teams probing for openings, Dickinson for Laddie and McGill for Redcar Mackinlay both going close.

In the 25th minute as Nozedar broke into the Laddie box he was adjudged to have been fouled, Johnson converting the resulting spot kick to give the visitors the lead. As Laddie tried for the equaliser Richeter raced clear on the break and slotted the ball into the net to give Redcar a two-goal advantage at the break. More Laddie pressure in the second half led to a Neesam header being well held by McManus then in the 60th minute Lawther was fouled 25 yards out, the resulting free kick was superbly struck by Daynes to pull a goal back. Five minutes later a slip by Laddie keeper, Bennett, almost let in McGill but he couldn't steer his shot goalwards. Laddie found the equaliser when Combellack picked up the ball some 40 yards out, skipped past several tackles and neatly placed the ball in the botton corner. Second half sub, Hislop, curled in the winner with almost the last kick of the game, leaving Mackinlay Park ruing several missed chances and the loss of a two-goal lead.

Lingdale Tavern v Black Swan

With Lingdale's pitch waterlogged Lingdale reversed the fixture and played at Guisborough. Lingdale started well when in the 15th minute shane Breckon forced a good save from keeper. Butler. Sdcott worked hard to make chances for Swan but Asdhbridge and Hood had the Taver defence under control and thwarted the Swan attacks. Lingdale worked well up front, Ward came close only for his shot from the edge of the box to be well saved by Butler. Breckon then had a shot going just wide leaving the game goalless at the break. Tavern pressured from the start of the second half, Neil and Paisley working well to keep the attack out but in the 20th when Tavern won a corner Dane Breckon picked out Hood in the box and his downward header bounced into the roof of the net. This gave Tavern a boost, Breckon and Kent combined well to make a chance for Ward and he made no mistake from ten yards. The game was won when Shane Breckon took the ball off Telford just outside the area and hit a cracking shot past the helpless keeper. Although Swan tried hard to break down the Tavern defence they were unable to test Moore in goal, Lingdale increasing their lead at the top of the table.

Whitby Benevolent Cup

Annandale Hotel v Grosmont

Annandale reached the semi finals with what turned out to be a comfortable victory despite an early scare. The home side should have gone into the lead when Grbutt, with the goal gaping, finished prematurely and missed the target. Grosmont immediately attacked, Walker forcing an outstanding save from Farndale, who somehow mangaed to tip the ball onto the bar Five minutes later the visitors took the lead when poor marcking left Farndale exposed and Walker headed in unchallenged. Both sides struggled to play passing football on a heavy pitch but Garbutt brought the home side level, firing into the roof of the net from the edge of the box. The second half was a different story with Annandale camped in the Grosmont half and it was no surprise when Booth set up Lewis to sidefoot the ball home. Booth then made it 3-1 and then 4-1, beating the defence to a near post header. Some delicate interplay betwenn Barker and Garbutt led to Garbutt netting the 5th. Grosmont rallied late in the game but found Farndale in commanding form and despite a late consolation goal from Brogan it was the Skelton side who progressed to the last four.

Eileen Hodgson Bowl

Whitby Fishermen v Goldsborough

This strongly contested local derby started in near perfect conditions on Caedmon playing fields. Both sides were aware of the meeting two weeks ago when Goldsborough outplayed Fishermen, consequently this game started at a quick tempo. Fishermen were the first to settle, playing some good passing football A number of chances were created for the hard working Martin and Wood only for them to be squandered. Goldsborough began to grow in confidence and were testing the Whitby defence with long balls to the ever dangerous Marsay and Dent however good defending prevented any close range shots and the first half finished in stalemate.

The second half began in a similar manner to the first with Maxwell, Swales and Roldan all attacking but chances not being taken. Stewart and Melbourne were now finding more possession for Goldsborough, leading to a period of sustained pressure on the Fishermen's goal. With 20 minutes to go and with both teams struggling to break the deadlock, a good ball through from Roldan resulted in a great finsh by Martin to give Fishermen the lead. As the home side were still congratulating each other, Goldsborough took a quick restart, the ball found its way back to keeper Sanderson whose long ball was headed on to Dent for the immediate equaliser. In previous matches this would have led to Fishermen defending deep with the risk of conceding a goal but for once they continued to attack, Roldan and the pacey Martin causing Goldsbough problems. With eight minutes remaining some good work by Marsden and Woods set up Martin, who placed an excellent strike into the top corner of the net. Despite a final onslaught by Goldsborough the experienced Fishermen's defence held tight to ensure a place in the semi fianls.

Scarborough Junior Cup

Kirkdale Utd v Lealholm

Lealholm travelled to Kirkdale Utd with high hopes of beating the current leaders of the Beckett League but found it difficult to find form against a five-man midfield. Lealholm had the best of the play for 15 minutes but failed to create chances. Kirkdale, however, made the most of their first opportunity when poor marking allowed them to take the lead after a throw in. The home team almost got a second but a good palmed save from keeper, Thompson, kept Lealholm in touch. Lealholm thought they had levelled when the ball seemed to cross the line, the Kirkdale keeper clawed it back and with the assistant referee unsighted the goal was given Ten minutes before half time Lealholm equalised following a Welham cross which Hill forced into the net with a diving header.

After failing to adjust to the midfield play of Kirkdale the Lealholm players found themselves outrun. When a long range shot gave Kirkdale the lead the visitors never got back into the game missing out on a place in the final.
