Inmixed weather conditions Crook came out on top form in their match against Killingworth YPFC.

Nicky Duckling opened the scoring on 12 mintues, she had made her hat-trick by 35 minutes. Kelly Rushworth got Crooks' fourth on 40 minutes when she took a ball through from Sarah Carter.

Some consolation came for Killingworth with Rachel Kay scoring just on half-time.

The passing between the Crook players was excellent with Kirsty Finlayson as sweeper and Katie Outhwaite in goal not a lot of Killy's passes got through.

Killingworth really battled but nothing could hold Crook back, they were on top form. Nicky and Kelly each added another goal to their scores in the second half.

Twice balls through from Amanda Dodds to Kelly's feet could easily have added two more goals, but what looked like a certain goal for Kelly was saved by keeper Gemma Barton.

Having an England scout watching the younger players may have helped Crook on, but this was one superb game which Crook deserved to win, which they did 6-1.

Durham City

Durham City produced a disappointing display against South Durham Royals in a League Cup fixture. City found themselves 2-0 down after 20 minutes, but rallied well, finishing the first half unlucky not to have converted any of their chances.

The second half saw South Durham continue to pressurise, adding two more goals. City substitute Kirsty Stokes netted for the visitors with a fantastic solo effort. However, this was not enough to inspire a City comeback, and the Royals added three more before the final whistle to make the final score 7-1.

All in all, a bitter disappointment for City, who find themselves entrenched in a relegation battle from now until the end of the season.
