Playing at Marton Ladies on April 8, Royals got off to a flying start when, after five minutes, a Tracey Swales cross found Victoria Barnes unmarked in the six yard box for a tame first goal.

Royals increased their lead on 36 minutes when a Swales shot took a slight deflection past the Marton keeper.

Ten minutes into the second half Marton pulled one back only for Royals to restore their two-goal lead when Caz Ross played a defence-splitting ball for Swales to shoot home. Ten minutes later a Swales corner dropped in the six yard box for Ross to poke home.

Marton reduced the deficit three minutes later when a corner was cleared only to the edge of the box for a Marton forward to strike it first time into the back of the net. The last 20 minutes saw both sides fail to convert any further chances and the final score was 4-2 to South Durham.

Four days later South Durham Royals were at home to Boldon Ladies and two minutes in captain Kim O'Connor played a perfect through-ball for Tracey Swales to open the scoring.

After 20 minutes Caz Ross struck a 30 yard shot which came back off the post for O'Connor to follow up and score. Boldon ended the first half strongly but being restricted to long range shots by a stubborn Royals defence.

Three minutes into the second half a delightful ball from Ross sent Swales away down the left and a perfect cross left O'Connor with a simple tap in for her second. On 75 minutes Sarah Flatman sprung Boldon's offside trap to cross for Swales to shoot home for her second.

Within two minutes of the restart a Swales cross found Flatman who chipped the ball over the defender's head with her right foot to score Royals' fifth with a superb left footed volley.

The semi-final scheduled for this Sunday at home in the Bill Godward cup has been postponed and will now be played at Sunnydale, 2pm on April 25.
