County Super League

Crook Town B went ten points clear at the top of the table when they only dropped three points to the visiting Durham. The first four frames were shared with Gerald Parkin and John Warriner scoring for the home side and Simon Baker and Paul Shutt levelling. The visitors failed to get another points in the first half as David Craggs, Les Scott and Darren Tinkler won for Crook B.

Things went even worse for Durham in the second half where they only scored one point through Paul Shutt. The home winners were Lee Cullinan, Cliffy Owens, John Warriner, Gerald Parkin, David Stephenson and Les Scott. The two points scored by Gerald Parkin took him to the top of the Individual Player of the Year list.

Shildon B led at the interval when they visited Ferryhill but then crashed in the second half. The home side had wins from Neil Bowtell, Steve Wray and Phil Cox before the break to trail by the odd point to the wins for Shildon from David Waites, Jim Dinning, Ian Sanderson and Brian Bailey.

In the second half only Dominic Hannon managed a point for the visitors, whilst Ferryhill went to victory with points from Steve Webster, Steve Wray, Alan Blakey, Terry Wray, Simon Corbridge and Phil Cox.

Crook Individual League

Simon Bowey must have thought he had killed a cat on the way to the match against Les Scott as he had no luck and went down in all three frames. In the first he cleared up, potted the black but went in-off. In the second he negotiated his way out of a seemingly impossible snooker to hit his ball but then slide in-off, which results in Scott's clearance. Bowey suffered from an in-ff again when he took out six balls but put the cue ball in the pocket off the last. Despite the bad luck, Scott still had to clear 21 balls and three blacks, which he confidently did, to win.

Aaron Cowan became the first player to take a frame out of reigning champion, David Craggs. After losing the first, Cowan pulled off two really good pots to take his last ball and the black in the second but then lost a tactical third.

Lee Scott made a good win against Neil Campbell with a tactical first and a clearance in the second, before the experienced Campbell dug in in the third to take the point.

Gerald Parkin had good chances in the first tow frames against David Craggs but failed to capitalise. In the third Parkin broke dry and Craggs cleared.

Darren Tinkler leads the table by one point from David Craggs, who is two ahead of David Haygarth and Les Scott.

Fixtures: Monday at Crook Coach and Horses: Lee Cullinan v Stuart Hall; Gerald Parkin v Chris Peacock; Lee Scott v David Stephenson; Neil Campbell v Doug Bowey.

Graham Comerford won two and Paul Shutt one for the Marquis, who slipped to fourth place, well outside a chance of landing the title.
