RUNS were in short supply in the league and, after Saturday's scores, just three teams now possess a 100 per cent record.

One of these, Burnmoor, skittled out Eppleton for the lowest score of the day when the Church Road side were dismissed for just 30.

Eppleton laboured through 27.1 overs for their paltry total. Jim Daley was the first to go and further collapses saw them tottering on 16 for six.

Burnmoor's four-pronged attack saw to it that the demolition was successfully completed.

When Barry Dews was out first ball, Burnmoor could have felt a little uneasy. However, with such a low target the result was never in doubt and the rout was completed in just 34 minutes.

Whitburn's Chris Ellison blitzed the Seaham Harbour attack to finish with 161 as his side totalled 234 before declaring from just 35.3 overs.

In Ellison's two-hour stay he shared a partnership of 156 with professional Ashley Thorpe (40 not out) playing second fiddle. Ellison smacked eight sixes and 18 fours as Seaham tried six bowlers unsuccessfully to stem the flow of runs.

Thorpe then turned wicket-taker as the Harbour struggled for runs.

The Australian ended with 5-10 and useful support from Neil Johnson saw Seaham bowled out for 61.

South Shields produced another sound display when they outplayed neighbours Marsden.

Only Chris Mann held up Shields. His 65 went a long way to make up his side's 109 with spinners Ashok Patel (4-19) and John Dunn causing them problems.

Dunn then went on to torment his former club with the bat. Supported by Ray McRae, Dunn (70 not out) saw Shields to victory, leaving Marsden pointless.

Hetton Lyons made it two wins in a row and newcomer Des Beach again dominated. Along with David Naunton, the pair shared the ten wickets as Felling could make little headway.

In contrast, Lyons led by professional Gerry Strydom (82 not out), scored more easily to win by eight wickets.

South Hetton reached the 200 mark and declared at Durham City. John Leslie registered a century and an unbeaten 48 from skipper John Pendlington saw South Hetton to 205.

City made a fair attempt but it was Leslie (3-14) and Stephen Massey (3-17) who were the main wicket-takers in the 65-run win.

Horden's Keith Cheetham was their bowling hero at Boldon. After a reasonable start, Boldon's late batting crumbled as Cheetham ended with 6-36 and Boldon a modest 110.

Although last week's hero Adrian Hedley went cheaply, Stephen Edwards (40) and Nadeem Khan added 68 together to maintain Horden's record.
