THE president of the Richmond Meet tried drums and kazoos when she met a local band to make a donation.
Christine Hill visited the Phoenix Flames at Brompton-on-Swale with funding to help them buy uniforms and equipment.
She said that the Meet was delighted to be able to help young groups which are making an effort to be part of the community life.
"Groups like the Phoenix Flames encourage the youngsters to be responsible and considerate," she said.
The Phoenix Flames will be joining the Meet's Bank Holiday parade, with a float.
People interested in joining or helping the group are asked to attend the Brompton-on-Swale community sports centre on Thursday evenings.
