A TEENAGER has been invited to audition for a scholarship to a dance college.

Clementine Walker, of Hartlepool, will take part in the audition for the Leeds Studio La Pointe Dance College for a three-year musical theatre course.

The course will include modern, ballet and tap dancing, and singing and drama lessons.

It will hopefully equip the 17-year-old for a career on the stage, which has been a long-held ambition.

She said: "I am interested in all aspects of theatre as a performer, but I will also be taking a teacher training course as another option."

Clementine is a pupil at Teesside High School for Girls, Eaglescliffe, where she is studying for A-levels in English literature, art, history and general studies.

She has been dancing since she was two and has performed in many local shows and pantomimes, including Snow White at Billingham Forum.

Her headmistress, Hilary French, said: "This is a tremendous opportunity for Clementine and we wish her every success for the future."
