A NORTH-EAST charity is appealing for people who like adventure to take part in a fundraising effort.

The Butterwick Hospice is holding its third Great Escape on Friday, June 19.

Teams of two are needed to dress up as convicts and have 24 hours to see how far they can get without paying for their transport.

Previous teams have reached places as far away as Disneyland Paris and Palma, Majorca.

There are prizes for the team that raises the most sponsorship and the team that gets the farthest.

Hospice fundraiser Sylvia Stoneham said: "Everyone who has taken part in previous Great Escapes has had such a great time.

"Whether they plan their 'escape' down to the finest detail or just see where they end up, they all enjoy their experience immensely."
