A 24-YEAR-OLD has received hospital treatment after being stabbed in his back during an argument.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at around 5.30pm on Tuesday in Longbeck Way, Thornaby. The victim climbed into the first floor window of his flat, followed by a second man.

An argument broke out and the occupant than jumped from the window followed by the other man who was brandishing a knife.

The victim was stabbed in his lower back and the man responsible made off from the scene. The 24-year-old received treatment for his puncture wound at the university Hospital of North Tees, Stockton, but has now been discharged.
