ONE of the country's favourite TV shows is to broadcast from on board a replica of Captain Cook's ship berthed in a Yorkshire town.

The Richard and Judy show is to broadcast from the HM Bark Endeavour while it is in berthed in Scarborough's South Bay on Wednesday.

The Endeavour will arrive in the bay at 4pm and will stay overnight before sailing for Whitby the next day.

Spectators are invited to Scarborough harbour to watch the show.

The Endeavour will be open to the public at Whitby's Endeavour Wharf from Thursday until Sunday, June 13.

As part of the Transit of Venus celebrations, on Tuesday, June 8, Endeavour will embark on a day sail along the Whitby coast, departing at 5am and returning at 10am.

There are opportunities to sail on Endeavour on many of her voyages as part of the crew or as a passenger. Anyone wishing to experience tall ship sailing using 18th Century techniques can get details by visiting www.barkendeavour.co.uk.

Local people are also encouraged to get involved by becoming volunteer guides or shipkeepers. For more information, call Cian Periera on 08707 458958.
