THE arch that will be the centrepiece of the new £757m Wembley Stadium was raised into place this week.
The 133m-high arch will support the biggest single span roof structure in the world. The structure was made by engineering company Cleveland Bridge, of Darlington.
Its installation was a proud moment for the company, which won a £60m contract to help to shape the national stadium.
