After the circus that was Jennifer Lopez's engagement to Ben Affleck we should all be grateful that her latest exchange of vows was conducted in secret.

The singer and actress invited friends and family to a barbie at her Beverly Hills home but instead of chomping through burnt bangers and burgers they sat down to a surprise wedding breakfast.

J Lo and her now husband Marc Anthony (a singing superstar in his native Latin America) had only been dating for a few months before they decided to tie the knot.

They were old friends but I can't help but wonder why they were in such a rush to say 'I do'.

Maybe Jennifer wants to steal Elizabeth Taylor's crown as the most married woman in Hollywood?

Her first wedding to waiter Ojani Noa lasted just over a year and then she jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire with hubby number two Chris Judd - who was dumped after a pathetic nine months.

She had the right idea with her next serious relationship - a 17 month love affair with rapper P Diddy - there was an engagement ring but no white dress.

Next came her most famous relationship and the will-they-won't-they saga of the Bennifer affair.

Jen's addiction to wedding cake meant she got engaged to actor Ben Affleck soon after they met (maybe she just loves collecting bling rings?)

What started off as a very romantic affair (he took out a newspaper advert to tell the world how much he thought of her) soon became a joke.

The wedding was continually arranged and cancelled on the advice of friends, PAs and even a psychic.

In the end Mr Affleck's love of gambling just wouldn't extend to betting on his future with J Lo and the relationship ended earlier this year.

Now just six months later Jenny from the Block has become Mrs Anthony.

Unlike Mr Affleck, Marc's idea of romance is to get a quickie divorce just days before his next wedding - well at least he we know he's not a bigamist!

There are rumours that Jen is pregnant but in today's' society, and with her track record, this shouldn't make any difference to her relationship.

Everyone knows how exciting the first few months of a relationship are but only teenagers think these feelings will last for everyone.

I am a great believer in time - if you are going to spend the rest of your life with someone why do you have to rush to be married? Why not wait and make sure you are not making a mistake?

Jennifer is not a child (she's a stunning 33) and has made enough public mistakes to think twice before getting married again.

Where were her girlfriends telling her to slow down and maybe consider the fact she was on the rebound from the very public end of the Affleck affair?

And there lies the problem, J Lo has become a victim of her own hype and her image as a high maintenance diva.

She has obviously surrounded herself with so many yes-men that no-one has dared to try to knock some sense into her very beautiful head.

It has been claimed the ceremony was held in secret to keep the press at bay but it's funny how some pretty clear aerial shots still made it into the next day's papers.

(Note to Jennifer - if you want your next wedding to really be in private get some advice from Mr and Mrs Brad Pitt who have still only released one shot from their big day.)

I think the secrecy was because Jen knew that if her friends and relatives know what she was planning they would have stopped her or at least said no to the whole idea - and no-one says no to this lady not even her mother.

I hope I am wrong and am forced to eat wedding cake-shaped humble pie but if I was Ben Affleck I'd be putting my next bet on seeing Mr and Mrs Anthony in the divorce courts within a year.
