Kirby Sigston made a magnificent 351 for the loss of just two wickets and Harper contributed 186 in the game with Chopgate, writes Malcolm Pratt.

Harper, who opened the innings, was only 14 runs short of 200 when he was caught, while Thompson ended unbeaten on 128.

In contrast, Chopgate were all out for just 65 as Clarkson captured six wickets for 21 runs and Cowton two for 35.

Ingleby Greenhow have not enjoyed a lot of success in recent seasons but they certainly celebrated at Kildale where they secured a 39 runs victory.

Opening batsman Cameron-Clark was another player to make three figures and he finished on 108 out of a total of 191 for eight.

David Fawcett added 22 before his father and brother dominated the Kildale reply.

Arthur Fawcett returned four for 61 and his son Michael six for 86 as Kildale were back in the pavilion for 152 which included 30 by Cook and 41 from Pearson.

Willey was another bowler among the wickets and he took eight at a cost of 38 runs leading East Harlsey to an eight wickets victory at Thimbleby.

The home side managed only 84 before East Harlsey won losing two wickets as Hodgson Snr ended unbeaten on 36 out of a total of 86 for two.

Swainby also found run making difficult in their home game with Hutton Rudby and suffered a final wickets defeat. Theakston ended with 24 not out but a total of only 91 for seven was posted as Jones took two 14 and Cook two for 20.

Jones then ended with 28 not out and Green made 20 in the Hutton Rudby reply of 95 for five. Four of the wickets were taken by Beadle at a cost of 42 runs.

Maltby realised 129 before bowling out Crathorne for 118. Close, Morrow, Cowen and Francis all past 20 in the Maltby innings while for Crathorne, Howard Leng returned four for 50 and Clemitt three for 36.

Crathorne suffered a blow when opener Marshall was run out after scoring 27 and although Whitfield contributed 26 to the mid order and Clemitt 22 late in the innings, Crathorne only managed 118 leaving Maltby winners by 11 runs. Hutchinson had a good day with the ball for Maltby returning figures of four for 22 while both Aldus and Stringer took two wickets each.

Stafford Place overtook the Skelton Castle total of 142 with eight wickets remaining. After losing opener Connor early, Stafford Place regrouped through a second wicket partnership between Lawrence (48) and O'Donohue who ended undefeated on 68 out of a total of 144 for two. Skelton Castle tried eight bowlers in the attack but only Hogarth and Irwin were successful each taking a wicket.

Batting first Skelton Castle ended on 142 all out and Wrigley (70) scored nearly half the total. Gratton added 32 while for Stafford Place Wade took four wickets for 25 runs and Livingstone three for 15.

Despite scoring 196 for five Scruton lost by six wickets to Broughton and Kirby. Neil Parkin reached three figures ending unbeaten on 101 with three sixes and ten fours and Lewis had four boundaries in 35 while Blaydon ended with 31 not out in the Broughton and Kirby total of 204.

When they batted first Scruton had Peter Hornsby (57), Dave Barker (49) and Neil Buchanan (36) all in form, while for the visitors Andrew Smith captured four wickets for 85 runs in a continuous spell of 20 overs which included four maidens.
