TWENTY-five people are to lose their jobs at a lawnmower factory.
Flymo, at Aycliffe Industrial Estate, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, will ask for volunteers for redundancy.
The company could not be contacted for comment last night.
Gerry Hunter, of the Amicus union, confirmed the cuts after holding talks with bosses at Flymo, which is part of the Electrolux group.
He said: "They tell me that their business dictates that they can lose 25 people. They have done their business review and they have come up with this.
"The company is being very co-operative with us, as all 25 will be Amicus members. But it is bad news when any company decides to cut its core business."
The losses will be in the factory's moulding, assembly and dispatch departments.
