A TEENAGE cyclist has died after falling off his bike and hitting his head on the road.
David Hetherington, 16, was hurt near his grandmother's house in Front Street South, Quarrington Hill, south-east of Durham City, on June 5. He was not wearing a helmet.
David, of Vale Brook, Sunderland, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham then transferred to Newcastle General. He died on Saturday night.
The coroner has been informed.
