Two new teams into the league, Billy Row Club and Wolsingham Club, upset the reigning champions, Newhouse Club and the Team Knockout winners, Tow Law Rose and Crown, now playing at Tow Law Cattle Mart after the closure of last season's home venue.
Billy Row Club entertained champions, Newhouse Club and took early points through Gary Cutler, Colin Boughey and Billy Potts, whilst the visitors could only reply with wins from Steve Turner and Bob Traynor.
Wolsingham Club hit immediate success on their visit to Tow Law Cattle Mart when they took the first three points through Billy Crampsie, Adam Dobson and Craig Porter. However the home side came back to win the final two points through Tom Carter and Anthony Ward.
