CIU League: Tindale Crescent pulled off the shock of the week in the pool section when they only dropped one point to the visiting Cockton Hill, who were in second place in the table.

Only Peter Race managed to take a point for the Hill whilst the Crescent had wins from Richie Taylor, Mike Webb, Brian James and Andrew Whelan.

Ferryhill won their pool match at the Prospect Club to lead the table by ten points from Cockton Hill and the Prospect, who share the second spot. In the dominoes section Ferryhill are two points behind Cockton Hill and five adrift of the leaders, Newfield.

Cockton Hill only dropped one point in the darts section at Tindale Crescent to move four points behind the leaders, Crook Belle Vue and eight ahead of Byers Green but the Hill have played one game more than the other two. There were darts maximums from Chris Kitch of Cockton Hill, Bobby Shanks of Chilton and Lee Richardson of Ferryhill.

The match between Crook Belle Vue and Byers Green was postponed.

Ushaw Moor Catholic Club retained their unbeaten record in the darts section after they whitewashed the visiting Willington Brewer's Droop B. The home points came from Ray Milburn, Steve Patterson, Alan Traylen, Brian Messer and Keith Ryans.

Hunwick Quarry went down to their first dominoes defeat of the season when they lost by the odd point at Crook King's Head. The Quarry took the first and last points with wins from Craig Lowe and Davey Robson, whilst the King's went to victory with wins from Derek Pounder, Ronnie Hope and Andrew Fleming.

The end of a losing pool sequence was certain when Willington Black Horse Tavern entertained Willington Burn as neither side had managed a victory. The Horse fell short of victory when they could only manage one point each from Mike Ashurst, Jimmy Martin, Brian Kell and Steve Pardew, whilst the Burn edged through to their first win with two points from Martin Rooney and one each from Joe Chatterton, Stephen Kyle, Andy Irwin and John MacIntosh.

Ushaw Moor Catholic Club lead the darts section by three points with Hunwick Quarry, two ahead of Willington Black Horse Tavern. The Quarry and the Catholic Club share the lead in the dominoes section with Willington Cottles two adrift. The pool section leaders are Ushaw Moor Catholic Club with a seven points advantage over Cottles and nine over the Quarry.

The match between Willington Cottles and Willington Brewer's Droop A was postponed and re-arranged for Thursday, 17 June.

Dominoes league champions, Willington Cottles B failed to score when they visited the Prospect Club in the semi-final of the Dominoes Team Knockout. The Prospect will now meet Willington Club A in the final after the Club A team won by the odd point at Willington Burn.
