Tynemouth clinched the Under-15 Division championship when they made it six wins out of six defeating Seaton Burn.

Batting first, the Seasiders posted 136 for seven which included 22 by Ricky Handy, 21 from Jonathan Hymers and 20 by Shaun Orrick. Ryan Carr had two for 16 and James Blacklock two for 29 for the Seaton Burn attack.

In reply, Seaton Burn were all out for 66 of which Andrew Hitchin contributed 25. Stephen Davison had two for four, Handy two for eight and William Handle-Rountree two for 15 for Tynemouth.

In their penultimate game Tynemouth defeated Tynedale by 23 runs when Andrew Smith produced a superb man of the match performance.

Faced with a target of 121, Tynedale were in a good position at 69 without loss but they slumped to 97 for nine when Smith was introduced into the attack. He claimed six wickets for a miserly nine runs in five overs and received good support from Stephen Davison whose two wickets cost him 22 runs. Johnson top scored with 44 and Rainsforth added 25 to the Tynedale total.

When Tynemouth made first use of the wicket Smith was also in splendid form the bat. He hit one six and eight boundaries in 69 and for Tynedale, Liam Pringle was the most productive bowler in their attack ending with three for 25 in five overs.

In the Under-18 division Tynedale defeated Morpeth by nine wickets. Joe Barber was match-winner with the bat ending unbeaten on 65 with three sixes and six boundaries as Tynedale realised 78 for one.

When Morpeth batted first they managed just 77 of which Foster scored 34 with five fours. Neil Tweddle had a good night with the ball for Tynedale claiming figures of three for six in three overs and Gavin Boyd returned two for 24 in four overs.
