Teesdale Sure Start will launch its Busy Bus next month.
The bus will provide a range of services to children and their parents.
Barbara Ashford, Early Years co-ordinator at Teesdale Sure Start, said: "We're hoping it will be a real help in communities. As well as providing services, it will also be a place where parents can come to chill out."
The bus will be launched in Barnard Castle on August 2.
It will be present at activities organised by Teesdale Leisure Centre next month and will begin touring Teesdale villages in September.
